The Easter Bunny came!

We had a really busy and fun Easter weekend. We hit the zoo for the annual Rabbit Romp. That means everyone who lives in Portland goes to the zoo, tramples each other for eggs, and then blocks all the exhibits. Being members of the zoo we thought we had to get in on this.
We decided to hit on of Brayden's favorite spots, the elephants.

He almost made himself light headed doing all his elephant noises.

We finally decided to fight the crowds to get to the eggs. Brayden went to the 2 and under section.

We had to practice what to do when the whistle blew.

Brayden decided to practice with grass to perfect his technique.

He got pretty good at pulling grass.

This is what happened when the whistle blew ladies and gentleman! This is the only thing he got the whole time! One yellow egg.

What was inside this one yellow egg? Nothing! It's a good thing Mom grabbed a rubber ducky and a few other things when the time came. At this point I want to make it clear I was one of the nice parents in this whole hunt. The 2 and younger section should have been called: 2 and younger, plus parents who have large hips who can push others out of the way and grab eggs for their kids who have not been diligent to practice picking grass in advance and so you have to grab all the eggs for them.

Later that night the Easter Bunny came! Or Easter kitty....

The next morning we brought out his basket. He had to hunt for sports decorated eggs.

Dad tried to tell him to put it in the basket.

B had other plans!

He found the old hoop that I took down because of his new hoop. He then promptly shot the egg in the hoop.

He couldn't figure out why his old hoop was taken down.

He took some time then to see what else was in his basket.

He got a great book from his cousins!

Then he got his big gift! He freaked out! I told Scott that we have peaked in our gift giving. Never again will Brayden be so excited about getting a gift. He was in heaven!!

Forget shooting those eggs!

I LOVE IT!!!!!

We then got ready for church to celebrate the REAL reason of Easter.

After church we went to Grandma and Island Man's house for lunch and fun! Grandma bought Resurection eggs, which are 12 eggs with things inside that symbolize Easter. At this stage in life it meant guessing what part of Jesus' death Brayden had in his mouth. (I can't imagine why he wanted the crown of thorns in his mouth. Good thing Grandma caught that and got it out before any damage was done.)

Hunting eggs.....

He needed a little help finding the 'balls.'

Got it!

After the adults found all the eggs and Brayden attempted to eat the plastic and metal pieces, we headed down stairs for the main gift! A baseball set!

All the males attempted to show Brayden what to do.

He then tried on his own.

Even Nana got in on the fun!

The game actually cheers for you! This really creeped Brayden out, so he decided to be an out fielder for the rest of the game.

After a great game of scare Brayden with the baseball game, Island Man took him on a little ride on his bike.

Brayden loves this bike. He isn't ready for the street without a helmet, so we jut cruise in the garage for now.

We are so thankful that Jesus died and rose again for us. We are also thankful for Brayden and all the joy he as brought to us.

Random April activites

We have been so busy doing Brayden focused activities that I am worn out by the end of the night. Thus, it's taken me a little while to post all of these. He is one happy little boy who loves to interact with others!

Brayden wanted to help Dad clean. I found a jacket that made us both laugh! Poor little boy!

Being that boys haircuts are around $20 I decided after watching 5 youtube videos on cutting hair that I could do it! So with the help of Alicia I went to work!

I think he liked it! It also turned out okay!

This month we have been taking rhythm classes. He loves it!
Magic carpet ride.

We have taken advantage of a free 2 week pass to Gymboree. Of course he loves the hoop.

Bubbles!
Shaking it to the music.
It was Island Man's 60th birthday party. B had to be with this Grandpa during the card opening time.

He loves his Island Man.

Dad just got a new office space!! We went to see it before the carpet was installed. The boys had to run around in all the free space.

This is his view.

Brayden is so proud of his dad.

Brayden went to the Children's Museum with Olivia Claire. He tried to show off his painting skills, but he still hates art. So he wasn't very impressive.

She thought he was pretty cute in a hat.

He wasn't too sure....

She said he looked hot.

He wasn't convinced.

We went to go see Gabby and meet her new little sister Livvy. He loved this tutu that Gabby owns. Of course he looks like a tough guy in it! Livvy slept the whole time, but Brayden loved seeing her mom and sister.

B still loves his bath time.

Playgroup at our house!

Busy little toddlers!

Two reasons we love playgroup! Shayne and Lucy are so sweet.

Kitty even came to the playgroup!!!!

'Do you see this Mom? I didn't make this mess on my own!'

Time to read and breathe after playgroup.

While he's a busy little B, we are having so much fun together and with friends!
