London

We made it to London without much trouble. We flew to Boston, had a four hour lay over and then took a red eye flight to London. A few things worked in our favor that flight. First, there were 43 passages and 163 empty seats. When it came to sleeping almost everyone had a row to themselves. Second, the immigration and customs lines can be terrible, like two hours of waiting terrible. Well, the stewardesses were kind and gave us passes to go in the fast track line because of Brayden. Once off the flight the entire airport was empty. So, we breezed through customs and saved the passes for later. As a family we took in the sites on Sunday. In a poor attempt to stay awake and get onto this new time schedule we dropped our bags off, ate, and hit the roads. What wakes up three tired Americans in the early London hours? A robbery! We saw a lady answering a guy's question just as he grabbed her ATM card she was holding, and run. Scott and another man took off after The Bad Man. As the Good Guys chased The Bad Man out of nowhere another Good Guy jumped out and tackled the robber. This sent bodies flying, along with the ATM card. The Bad Guy got away, however the lady got her card back and we got a thrilling story to tell.  Scott has been working during the day, so B and I attempt to not get lost, spend too much money, and see some fun things along the way. Today he and I ventured on the tube or 'tutu' so B could go play at the children's area in the Science Museum. Can I just take a moment to say that London hates strollers. They call them push carts, but whatever, they hate them. There are stairs everywhere and no ramps. It's a good thing I brought our small stroller or else I wouldn't be here typing, I would stil be stuck at the bottom of the stairs some place. A prime example was riding the train today. I had over 3 flights of stairs to carry the stroller down just to get to the tube. And what goes down must come up. Then I had to return home after all of that. I came home a sweaty mess! The doorman must have thought we had gotten mugged this time! So far we are all in good spirits. It's too bad B won't remember any of this. Much of my day is spent entertaining him, so I'm taking a lot of pictures to show him when he's old enought to say, 'I'm bored! We never do anything fun.'  I'm hearing a voice saying,"don sta! Tutu." Which must mean B isn't sleeping and he is traumatized by all the stairs he was jostled down to get to the train. I better go check on this non napping boy.

Cousins!!!!!

Brayden couldn't wait for his cousins to arrive. Since it was such a beautiful day we decided to blow bubbles and wait for them.
Once they arrived the kids got to playing right away. Kai and Brayden had a blast together. They speak the same language, wear the same size clothes, have the same diaper size, oh and did I mention she's 8 months old?

We all went to the Children's Museum for some fun.
B decided to join in a dinosaur dig.

After digging Sienna gave B a giant hug.

Next stop, trains and snacks!

Brayden had a new treat, a thing called chocolate milk. He loved it!

After snacks were over all of us Roths jumped on a plane to Egypt.

We watched a little video about Egypt.

Sienna was good at not talking while the 'movie' was going.
Once in Egypt Brayden decided to make some Naan.

Then Sienna decided to drive them around the city.

This picture would have been better if it had captured what we were riding! Here we are on the Nile riding an alligator.
We then decided to ride the carousel up stairs.

B didn't really want to.

But he found the courage to ride and found it to be actually quiet fun.

B loved having lunch next to Kai.

He decided to show off some of his tricks!

The next morning it was sad to say good bye. Before leaving Brayden was kind enough to vomit all over. Then to prove Brayden wasn't that cool Sienna threw up all her lunch. We decided that Sienna won because she had food in her stomach and B didn't.

We love having family come and visit. It's such a joy having the kids grow up together!

Valentines Day

This was Brayden's first snowy Valentines Day. This meant me learning how to navigate in the snow to make the most of the day. We began at the library making pencil valentines.

He was very proud of his art.

Next after a nap he helped decorate heart shaped cinnamon rolls for the neighbors.

I was going to have him walk around to burn off all the sugar he had licking one of the cinnamon rolls. (Note, we did not deliver the one he licked. ) But he wanted to be with all the valentines he created.

When we got to our neighbor's house he would carry the valentine and I would carry the rolls up.

After successfully bringing all the valentines through wind and snow we came home to warm up.
(38/52, I think)

Once Scott got home from work B could finally open the cards and gifts what were awaiting him.

After loving all the cards and books he dove right into his heart shaped sandwich. He loved it so much he ate two!
I had to add this cute photo, this is B wearing the glasses from Mr. Potato Head that Great Uncle Chris got him for Valentines Day.

Super Bowl

It's not a secret I'm not thrilled to be living in Indy. I have to admit, it has been pretty good timing in terms of being here for amazing weather and fun events. The Super Bowl events were happening right outside Scott's office. In fact these roman numerals were the view out his window.
One day we decided to brave the crowds and head down to Super Bowl Village and attend a private company party for ExactTarget.

Huddle was a club created just for the Super Bowl. As a fun event all employees got in invite their family down for drink and appetizers for the evening.

Brayden was on the dance floor about 90% of the time. Needless to day he was a total hit as he danced by himself!

We took a breather to go down Georgia street to see all the commotion. It was packed and it was five days before the 'main event!'

B got to ride in style!

As you might have heard there were a lot of celebrities. This was Brayden's favorite!

This was one amazing site. Look at the cars below in comparison to the trophy!

On Saturday the events began! Scott went to a wonderful event awarding various NFL players who show positive character on the field and off the field. Since Scott went alone there are no pictures because he doesn't compulsively take pictures like I do.
That evening we went to a private event put on by his company. It was for a few employees to mingle with partners and other top leaders in Indiana who were in town.
We were excited for our night on the town!
First we walked the Orange carpet.
Once there some Globe Trotters decided to join us. Am I really the 3rd or 4th tallest people here?
Then we went back the the Orange carpet to work it one last time.

Well, then we saw Colts kicker Adam Vinateieri, so we had to pull it together.

Next we rolled to a benefit for the Food bank. 35 NFL players team up with a chef from their town and make a dish that represents their town. We were going to park and then saw a VIP area. While we didn't have the correct pass, Scott just waved at the parking attendant with authority and we drove in. We parked in a good spot, but it did require us jumping over a ditch, which isn't easy in heels.
We then got to walk around to each station and taste the food and paired wine. The NFL players autographed items, luckily they didn't have to cook.

Yep, the orange lanyards really blend in well!

Scott and I felt bad that the NFL players just had to talk to 'fans' all night. So before we met each player we did some research. We decided to spice up the conversations by pretending their coach was our uncle or our cousin played on the team. It kept conversation flowing as they posed for a picture and signed a football for B.

We had to make sure we got a picture of Sean Gayle for our nephew Emmett, a true Bears fan!
We then decided to get some of Scott's coworkers in on our 'scheme.' I was very impressed with Amanda's acting skills.

Once the food part of the evening was done the wine and cooks went away. They left bottles of wine out for people to drink. Naturally Scott took a bottle of Pinot Noir with him to drink for the rest of the evening. Not to worry, he shared with friends.

"The Cake Boss" made an amazing cake for this event.
After great good and fantastic wine, Sara Evans gave a private concert at the event. She was fantastic! Amanda and I made it almost to the front of the stage to watch.

As our evening came to an end I realized some beautiful flower arrangements were going to be tossed. So I 'saved' one that is now wilting on our dining room table. Yes, I did jump the ditch with these flowers to get back to the car. My impressive long jump skills from high school came back to use.

As we got to to out car we tried to convince each other that we aren't 'old' parents, we are still fun. Once we opened the car door and saw the car seat we realized that maybe we aren't as hip as we like to think we are. We put all our 'swag' in.

We hope to one day impress Brayden with how 'cool' we are that we met all these NFL players and got a ball signed just for him. The reality is that he will see right through that an humble us by saying we aren't that amazing. But, you can't fault us for trying!
