B's thoughts

Brayden has become a constant chatter box. I honestly don't know where it come from. :) Scott and I joke how he has no internal dialog. Here are a couple of his favorite things to say:

"I donts want pickles in there.." - What are you feeding me? Will I like it?

"No thank you" - If there is something he doesn't want to do

He has become very funny, which has been fun to watch. Brayden is quick to make a friend and loves interacting with other kids. While he was slow to talk, he is quickly making up for lost time.

Amelia Island, Florida

Scott was going to a beautiful resort in Florida for a few days. B and I decided to tag along with him. He was in Indy, so B and I flew to join him in Florida. 

One strange fear B has developed is he is afraid the the gas masks are going to fall down on an airplane. Yes, he screams during the presentation and he finds the safety brochures and points to them in it. It's bad. So I now put imaginary tape on the ceiling before he sits down. While it doesn't erase his fear completely, he will at least sit down.

In Atlanta on our lay over B found a new friend!

Once we got to Amelia Island we realized we were in the middle of a monsoon. The wind was crazy and the rain fell from every direction. I took B to an indoor swimming pool and we ate out. After nap time we braved the elements. 

So cute!

On our way back to the room this sandy and wet boy found the splash pad.

He promptly sat down and got drenched.

That night our room flooded. It was a burst pipe, not from the rain. Great.

The next morning we needed to switch rooms. It was still a wreck outside. B and I decided to brave the elements.

We then had lunch and B got his favorite, mac and cheese and chocolate milk. 

The next day was again wet. We found a nature center to go explore. B wasn't too excited about the macaw.

He did love seeing the reptiles.

He used his magnifying glass a lot.

After that we ducked into lunch. It was good to have Scott join us on this soggy day.

Since it was still wet and gross around we headed 20 minutes away to a big shrimp festival. We were ready for some fun. Once we got there we found out it was closed due to rain. Of course it was.

Ice cream isn't as good as a shrimp festival, but it's good.

This is what happens when you have a hotel bound 3 year old for 3 days........

On Sunday the sun came out. Thank God!

Sand Car

After a wonderful day we headed out to dinner. Look how cute these guys are.

While this trip had a lot of bumps, we made the best of it. Did I mention Brayden has gone on over 100 flights now? As long as he doesn't see gas masks he's happy. He told someone "when I grow up I am going to be an airplane." I love it.

Vegas

Scott is a road warrior. He amazes me with his ability to switch time zones, remember what city he is in, and most importantly remember what is room number is. Scott has had a lot of trips recently, so in between Indy and Brazil we met up in Vegas. We spent most of our time pool side where I proceeded to get lobster red. But we did make time to go to our favorite restaurant, The Vintner Grille.   

The next night we headed to Caesars Palace. It just finished making a 17 million dollar buffet. Meaning it had just opened and was said to be the best in Vegas. Scott and I almost ate our weight in king crab. 

The only game I play in Vegas is The Fish Game. I don't know what I'm doing, but I have fun and hope I land on 'fish food.'

It was great to spend a weekend kid free, compliments of my parents. Needless to say he had a wonderful vacation at their house too.

4 kids, 3 moms, one vacation

 It has been about a month since the last post. Geeze! As you will soon see we have been a little busy the past month, many good things are going on!

Katie was about to have her second baby, thus Tammy set up a fun time for the two of us and our kids to join her at her mother in laws beach house. Katie came by at 7:30pm and we packed the car and were off. The kids were stoked to be together, and were excited to have an excuse not to sleep.

B was thrilled to sleep in the bottom bunk, at least for one night!

The next morning all the kids were excited to see each other and run around!

It was sunny so we grabbed the kids and headed to the beach.

All was good until B found a "baby pool." 

Yeah, he's pretty cute, even when dirty.

After such a fun morning the kids cleaned up.

The next day we headed to the park where the kids owned it.

Yes, Payton joined us! She is always such a good sport.

Watch out Shayne, he thinks Payton is pretty cute.

What is more fun than a clothes basket?

Going to Manzanita can't be complete without a stop at Bread and Ocean.

It was such a great trip for the kids and us mom. I just loved that these kids are so sweet together and love being together.
